TEHRAN, April 5 (Xinhua) -- One killed and four injured in a 6-magnitude earthquake that hit northeastern Khorasan Razavi Province of Iran on Wednesday morning, semi-official ISNA news agency reported.
The earthquake, with a depth of 10 km and the epicenter at 35.75 degrees north latitude and 60.35 degrees east longitude, hit Sefid Sang village in Fariman town of Iran's Khorasan Razavi province on Wednesday at 10:39 local time (0609 GMT).
Rescue teams have been dispatched to the quake-hit region, state-run IRIB TV reported.
Subsequently, a number of aftershocks ranging from 4.6-4.1 magnitude have hit the region.
The quake has disrupted the power and telecommunication network in the region and people are outdoors in panic.
According to the reports, tremor was felt in Mash'had, the capital city of Khorsan Razavi located 75 km to the north of Fariman, and in border region of Iran-Afghanistan some 100 km at the east of Fariman town.
