Phnom Penh (FN), March 13 – For Cambodians to better understand the Commune Election which is scheduled to be held on June 04, 2017, here are some basic information:
1. To be eligible to vote, you must have names in voter list as Khmer national or other identification documents.
2. You need to know your name, numbering, code and voting office which has been confirmed in voter registration and voter list published in the voter information card.
3. You have to be ready in time with Khmer identity card or identification documents on the Election Day.
4. You can choose any political party you want without being forced or threatened.
5. You vote in a private room and no one can know which political party you choose.
6. You only have the right to a single vote at the election office where your name is on the registration list by attaching a voter identification, Khmer identity card or identification documents.
7. Those who already registered but did not go to vote, will lose their rights in participation in communal and social development.
8. To maximize communal capacity development, we have to vote in a way that is free, fair, just, and secret.
9. Commune security and development depends on capable and resourceful commune councils.
