Phnom Penh (FN), Feb 2 - William A. Heidt, U.S Ambassador to Cambodia, said that it is high time for Cambodia to have better relations with the newly established U.S government.
The statement was made in response to Prime Minister Hun Sen's criticism.
The premier spoke on Thursday during the International Conference on Children's Development that the United States went to wars with many countries and harmed the civilians in those areas.
The premier stated that the US's invasion in the 1970s had caused huge negative impacts to Cambodian children.
The premier also advocated that countries around Asia Pacific to condemn the cruel acts of the United States for invading other countries.
The ambassador had no comments regarding the issues above but hoped that Cambodia and the United States will promote diplomatic ties.
Prime Minister has always been against the United States for seeking the loans during the 1970s.
He claimed that the United States bombed Cambodia and wanted to take money from Cambodia and that it would be extremely unfair for Cambodia.
