SYDNEY, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Australian Authorities confirmed that five passengers had died after their light plane crashed into a Melbourne retail outlet on Tuesday Morning.
"It looks like no one survived the crash," Victorian police said.
The plane went down on route to King Island of the south coast of Australia.
The Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said it was the state's worst aviation disaster in over 30 years.
Victoria police said that no other fatalities occurred on the ground, yet the shopping centre was severely damaged by the blaze following the crash.
Essendon airport and the nearby freeway have been closed, while the investigation is continuing.
