Beijing (FN), Feb. 11 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen has called on both Cambodian and Chinese investors to consider investing in the fourth economic pole in northwestern Cambodia.
The premier spoke on the occasion of presiding over the opening of the Cambodia-China Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion Forum held in Beijing, China on Friday night (Feb. 10).
During the forum, Samdech reminded the results of the working meeting with Chinese president Xi Jinping. In particular, the president's initiative to develop agriculture and aquaculture in the area surrounding the Tonle Sap Lake to create a fish and rice corridor in the northwestern Cambodia.
In this regard, premier Hun Sen decided to establish the fourth economic pole of Cambodia, covering four provinces in the northwest, including Pursat, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey and Pailin.
Samdech highlighted that in these provinces, plenty of investment has already been pursued, such as hydropower in Pursat province, construction of irrigation system and construction of road network such as National Roads 55 and 57.
