VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Russian troops are conducting shooting training using AGS-17 Plamya automatic grenade launchers at six training grounds of Russia's Far East Eastern military district, Russian news agency TASS reported on Thursday.
Military units will shoot at stationary and moving targets, including group targets, both in the day and at night. More than 500 servicemen will participate in exercises, the report said.
According to the district's spokesman A. Gordeev, such shooting training is being conducted in Transbaikal region, Buryatia, Sakhalin oblast, Amur oblast, Khabarovsk krai and Primorsky krai.
Participants took a course of theoretical training, studied automatic grenade launchers in details and learned techniques and rules of shooting with standard weapons.
The eastern military district is one of the four operational strategic commands of the Russian military. Headquartered in the eastern Khabarovsk region, the district covers territories of the former Far East military district and part of the former Siberian military district.
