MOSCOW, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Crews of attack helicopters Mi-24 from the "Tolmachevo" airbase carried out mock an air combat on the training ground in the Novosibirsk region, the Russian news agency TASS Thursday cited the Russia's Central Military District (CVO) representative as saying.
"Pilots performed complex aerobatics maneuvers to be in advantageous angles of attack and hit the air targets. In the second stage crews conducted aerial reconnaissance and stroked on simulated tactical landing, and also supported motorized divisions from air," the CVO spokesman said.
According to the spokesman, 10 helicopters and nearly 50 people were involved in the exercises. During the exercise pilots also carried out unprepared landing grounds search, takeoff and landing under difficult weather conditions, military goods delivery and of simulated wounded solders transportion in combat conditions.
The CVO, headquartered in Yekaterinburg, is one of Russia's Military Districts which formed on Presidential Decree No.1144 signed on September 20, 2010.
