Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 2 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen had shared the sufferings that Cambodia went through and emphasized that, through Cambodia lesson learnt and the premier's personal understanding, war cannot be ended by war.
On 1 November 2022 at 16:00 PM (Cambodia's Time), premier Hun Sen had a telephone call with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.
"The premier reiterated the importance of peaceful negotiations and peaceful resolution and hoped that all parties concerned will strive for comprehensive solution to end the war in Ukraine so that Ukraine can regain peace, stability, territorial integrity and development," according to the outcomes on the call seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Nov 2).

During the call, Samdech reaffirmed Cambodia's position on the war in Ukraine that Cambodia respects and adheres to the Charter of the United Nations and international laws, and that Cambodia is against the aggression, the threat of or use of force over sovereignty and the territorial integrity of an independent state, and does not support the secession or the annexation of territory by other countries.
At the outset, president Zelensky expressed his profound appreciation and deepest gratitude for Cambodia's support and co-sponsorship of the United Nations General Assembly's resolutions and Cambodia's firm position on the War in Ukraine.
Zelensky thanked the premier for his valuable time and also warmly congratulated Cambodia for successfully chairing the 55th AMM and Related Meetings, and wished Cambodia a greater success in hosting the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits, in November 2022.
