HO CHI MINH CITY, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Customs officers in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City have spotted some 500 kg of elephant tusks hidden in two containers, the municipal Customs Department said Friday.
The smuggled tusks were found on Thursday among timbers in the two containers at Cat Lai Port in the city. They were imported from Africa by a local company in Ho Chi Minh City.
Earlier this month, the city's customs officers spotted about 500 kg of elephant tusks smuggled in a similar way.
Last month, they unearthed three similar smuggling cases, confiscating a total of over 3.5 tons of elephant tusks.
