HOUSTON, November 15 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed on Tuesday afternoon following a shooting near the Will Rogers airport's terminal in Oklahoma City, capital of the U.S. state of Oklahoma.
The shooting happened in a parking lot outside the terminal shortly before 1:00 p.m. local time and the 52-year-old male victim, a Southwest Airlines employee, was shot, and died later in a local hospital due to his serious injuries, according to local English newspaper the Oklahoman.
Police, who are looking for a possible second victim, have confirmed the shooting, saying that they have blocked off the streets around the airport and are asking people to avoid going to the airport.
Airport officials said that all in-and out-bound flights have been suspended while police are investigating the incident.
Witnesses said that a helicopter is hovering over the airport and a fire engine rushed to the airport.
Currently, police only said that this is an isolated incident and the suspect should not be an active shooter, but no further information about the shooter are available now.
