BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) — Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will make a two-day state visit to Brunei on Tuesday for the first time in his ten-year rule at the helm of the Arab nation.
Kuwaiti Emir will be making the visit after attending the 2nd Asian Cooperation Dialogue Summit in Bangkok, where he is due to arrive Saturday, Brunei media reported Saturday.
Information provided by the Kuwaiti embassy to Brunei said that a number of MoUs are poised to be signed between the two countries during the upcoming visit on the fields of education, research, tourism, trade and bilateral cooperation.
Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and over 80 Kuwaiti senior officials, dignitaries and royal family members are slated to accompany the Emir on the state visit.
Brunei established diplomatic relations with Kuwait in 1990 and is due to host the 3rd biennial Kuwait-Brunei Joint Committee meeting in the capital in December this year.
