Phnom Penh (FN), May 27 – In a meeting with visiting President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, at Peace Palace today, September 27, 2016, Prime Minister Hun Sen said the two countries share common goals for the sake of people’s livelihood, a senior official said.
Eang Sophalleth, immediate assistant to Prime Minister Hun Sen told the press after the meeting that the president of Vietnam NA conveyed from the Vietnamese leaders to the premier best wishes and appreciation for Cambodia’s fast development.
In response, the premier thanked the Vietnamese leaders for their wishes and he agreed with the assessment of the two countries, according to Sophalleth.
“We have had regular meetings between provinces and agencies of the two countries and now we have strengthened cooperation of the two countries’ legislatures. This is because we share common goals and we complement each other for the sake of improvement of the people’s livelihood,” said the premier.
In the meeting Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the priority of her visit as well as that of the Vietnamese delegation to Cambodia was to strengthen and expand the existing relationship between the two countries and said she was committed to work closely with Cambodia’s National Assembly and Senate to successfully strengthen and further improve the two countries’ relationship, said Sophallet.
The premier finally thanked the people and the government of Vietnam for facilitation provided to Cambodian people especially those living along the border to cross the border and get medical services in Vietnam, Sophalleth added.
