Phnom Penh (FN), May 27 – Asian Development Bank issued a new report today stating that Cambodia will continue to retain a strong economic growth for the year 2016-2017 just as expected, according to a press release by ABD available to Fresh News today.
In an update of its annual economic publication (ADO) 2016, ADB retains its forecast of Cambodia’s economic growth at 7 percent for 2016 and 7.1 percent for 2017.
“The outlook for Cambodia’s economy, after attaining lower-middle-income status in July, remains robust with exports from the garment and footwear industry rising by 9.4 percent in first half of this year,” ADB’s Country Director for Cambodia, Samiuela Tukuafu, was quoted as saying in the press release.
“Mr. Tukuafu said ADB stands ready to continue supporting Cambodia’s inclusive economic through critical investments in agricultural productivity, transport and logistics, technical and vocational education and training, and financial sector development,” the press release said.
