Phnom Penh (FN), August 28 – Cambodia Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a statement today, August 27, 2016 strongly condemning certain individual Vietnamese Facebook users for humiliating Prime Minister Hun Sen.
“Over the recent period of time, after Prime Minister Hun Sen had clearly demonstrated Cambodia’s position with regard to the South China Sea issues, a number of Vietnamese cadres and individuals have accessed Samdech Akak Mohasena Padei Techo Prime Minister’s official Facebook page insulting the premier with seriously contemptuous languages, insane and uncivilized acts,” the statement reads.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said the Ministry categorically condemned these unethical acts by the Vietnamese cadres and individuals as stated above that have had serious impact on the honor and dignity of the leader of a fully independent and sovereign country.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation “would like to call on the Vietnamese authorities to take serious actions in investigating and determining the identities of those cadres and individuals who have unethically insulted and humiliated the top leader of Cambodia and get them punished in accordance with the laws in effect so that the honor and dignity of the leader of Cambodia as well as the traditional good-neighbor relationship of Cambodia and Vietnam could be maintained,” concludes the statement.
