Phnom Penh (FN), August 17 – Minister of Tourism Thong Khon said today August 17, 2016 that in early September Japan Airline ANA will start its direct flight from Tokyo, Japan, to Phnom Penh and hence will contribute to bringing more visitors from Japan to Cambodia.
Thong Khon made his remark during Cambodia-Japan Tourism Destination Seminar held today at Topaz restaurant with participation of Yuji Kumamaru, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, many government officials and others.
The Minister said the seminar was designed to exchange ideas and sharing good experiences about promotion and development of Cambodia-Japan tourism destinations and also for Cambodia to be prepared to welcome Japanese visitors who will come along in celebration of the direct flights between Japan and Cambodia by All Nippon Airways (ANA) in early September.
“This connection is to provide convenience to tourists and visitors to Cambodia that constitutes a key factor to tourism booming and especially when Cambodia sets a target of welcoming 300,000 Japanese visitors by 2020. Over the last six months of 2016, Cambodia has already welcome 90,877 Japanese visitors,” Thong Khon said.
As far as conveniences for foreign visitors and investors coming to Cambodia as concerned, Cambodia has offered E-visa, Visa-on-arrival and Multiple-Entry-Visa of up to one, two and three years.
