Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 29 – Ministry of Justice has requested to His Majesty King to grant amnesties to 90 convicts, 58 females, to be released on Water Festival 2019, according to the ministry's Spokesperson Kim Santepheap on Tuesday.

Cambodia grants amnesty during three major festivals in Cambodia: Khmer New Year, Water Festival, and Buddha’s Day – Visakha Bochea.

Amnesty reduces imprisonment terms in four categories: reducing six months, nine months, 12 months, and reducing from "lifetime imprisonment" to 20 years.
