PHNOM PENH (FN), July 4 – Senior Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prak Sokhonn, offered a warm welcome today, July 4, 2016 to four Indian female motorcyclists during their stopover in Cambodia which is one of many countries in Asia that form their itinerary.
During the meeting led by Mr. Naveen Srivastava, India’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Cambodia, and Dr. Sarika Mehta, team leader of the Indian woman motorcyclists, Senior Minister Prak Sokhonn also expressed appreciation of the team’s travel under a slogan of “Help and Educate the Girls” saying that the woman motorcycling constitutes a significant contribution to gender promotion.
Senior Minister Prak Sokhonn praised the Indian woman motorcyclists for their bravery and perseverance in traveling on motorbikes for over 10,000km across 10 countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia namely Nepal, India, Butan, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Mr. Naveen Srivastava, India’s Ambassador in Cambodia, informed Senior Minister Prak Sokhonn that India’ s Prime Minister Narendra Modi was supportive of the Indian woman motorcycling with the aim of promoting gender, helping and educating the girls. He also highlighted the link between ASEAN and India that has been demonstrated through this long journey.
