PHNOM PENH (FN), July 4 – In a courtesy call by Myanmar’s new Ambassador to Cambodia, Myint Soe, today, July 4, 2016, Prime Minister Hun Sen said Cambodia and Myanmar were fully in support of a peaceful solution to South China Sea disputes by all parties involved.
Samdech Prime Minister is was particularly appreciative of Myanmar’s five-point principle of which one is about preserving peace. “Without peace, there would be nothing and neither a chance to develop the country. Cambodia and Myanmar share a lot of cultural similarities and have had long history of good relationship such as Buddhism program exchanges,” said the premier.
On his part, Mr. Myint Soe told Samdech Prime Minister Hun Sen that had served as Myanmar’s deputy mission director in Geneva before he was appointed Ambassador to Cambodia. He said his current mission was to further strengthen relationship and cooperation between the two countries.
Samdech Prime Minister Hun Sen extended a warm welcome and congratulation to Mr. Myint Soe for being nominated as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Cambodia. He also thanked Myanmar for maintaining good relationship and cooperation with Cambodia and for providing research and study scholarships to Cambodia especially in the area of Buddhism.
