Phnom Penh (FN), July 1 – Ministry of Justice requested the National Assembly start procedures to remove immunity of two members of National Assembly H.E. Tov Vanchan, Representative of Kandal Province Constituency and H.E. Pin Rathana, Representative of Battdombong Province Constituecy so that the court can proceed with legal procedure in regard of their cases, according to a letter to the NA.

According to the letter by the Ministry of Justice, the request that immunity of the lawmakers be stripped was made by the prosecutor attached to Phnom Penh’s Municipal Court, issued on June 29, 2016 based on Article 80 of the Constitution of Cambodia and Article 8 of Law on Status of Parliamentarians.
