Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 5 – Keo Remy, Minister attached to Prime Minister in charge of Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC), said that during the meeting with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Cambodia, Rhona Smith did not mention the case of Kem Sokha.

Head of the CHRC said: “The UN human right expert did not raise Kem Sokha's case, but I informed her that the court allowed Kem Sokha to stay at home due to his health issue. The fact that he receives care from his family is an important point in respecting human rights.”

Rhona Smith, however, requested our Committee to pay attention to legal amendments to avoid the violations of human rights, Remy told the press after the meeting on Monday at CHRC.
