Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 5 - Former President of Sam Rainsy Party Kong Korm, on Monday, rejected the statement of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) spokesman Sok Eysan for saying that he is the spy of CPP.
Sok Eysan on Sunday announced that Kong Korm is the spy of CPP, and that it implied Kong Korm works for the interests of the ruling party.
“Sok Eysan, as well as many CPP leaders, always treat me as one of the closest friend (I am thankful), but the phrase “spy of CPP” should be uttered by the opposition,” Kong Korm wrote on Facebook page on Monday.
He also underlined that a few of former opposition members suspects him of working as a spy for CPP, but both opposition and ruling party leaders have never doubted him.
"Both the opposition leader (Sam Rainsy), and CPP leaders (Samdech Heng Samrin, Samdech Chea Sim, Samdech Hun Sen) have all been informed in written form that I favor the ideal of multi-party democracy, paved by Paris Accords and the Constitution of the Kingdom Cambodia,” Korm added.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen also rejected the statement of Sok Eysan for saying former President of Sam Rainsy Party Kong Korm is the spy of CPP and confirmed that Korm does not serve the interests of CPP, speaking in an exclusive interview with CEO and Founder of Fresh News Lim Chea Vutha on Sunday.
