Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 2 – Zhang Chunxian, Vice Chairperson of Presidium of National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China said that Cambodia and China relations are like ironclad thus unbreakable and that Cambodia benefits from China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone and China's belt and road initiative, speaking in a courtesy call on Samdech Heng Samrin, President of Cambodian National Assembly on Friday.
Zhang said that China’s policies do not take into account China's sole interests, but considering the common interests of ASEAN and the world.
Samdech Heng Samrin expressed his pride in the joint efforts of Cambodia and China cooperation based on the traditional friendship. The two will continue to strengthen stronger ties and cooperation under any circumstances as they now enjoy “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership", which produced fruitful results in many sectors.
The President highly appreciated and fully supported China's initiatives on belt and road policy, and hoped that the policy will attract more investors and tourists to Cambodia.
On this occasion, Samdech Heng Samrin and Zhang have vowed to work together to strengthen the relations and cooperation between the two legislative bodies and to encourage exchanges of visits at all levels.
Samdech Heng Samrin also conveyed regards to President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and Li Zhanshu, Chairman of the Congress, and invited leaders of Congress to visit Cambodia at a suitable time, while Chinese side also invited the President of the National Assembly to visit China.
Zhang visits Cambodia for four days from 1-4 November 2018 at the invitation of President Heng Samrin of the National Assembly of Cambodia.
During the visit, Zhang is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on key leaders in Cambodia, including Samdech Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia; Samdech Say Chhum, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia; and Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia.
The delegation will also visit the Royal Palace, National Museum, and some temples in Siem Reap.
