SANTIAGO, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted 89km northeast of Iquique, Chile at 2219 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 95.03 km, was initially determined to be at 19.6601 degrees south latitude and 69.5294 degrees west longitude.
