Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 26 - Teachers and students at the New Generation School (NGS) in Preah Sisowath High School are delighted with the installation of new school management system on students’ study records and administrations at school.
Som Komsan, Vice-president of Sisowath and director of NGS, said Thursday in an interview that by scanning the QR code, parents and teachers will be able to track students’ academic performances.
Developed by a group of Cambodians, the system provides information on students’ grades, absences and punctuality, health information, emergency contacts, and other necessary data of each student. It also allows Ministry of Education to effectively collect data for the reports from NGS.
“It’s hard to distribute information among students’ parents as well as ministry’s officials,” he said adding that “the new system provide conveniences in providing information of our students to all relevant parties including school staff, students’ guardians, and ministry’s officials.”
“I highly recommend this system to other school managers,” Komsan underlined.
According to the director, NGS becomes the first public school to setup and implement this new system.
The New Generation School (NGS) initiative is being implemented jointly by KAPE and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS). According to KAPE, the NGS prepares Cambodian youth to compete in the 21st Century marketplace by strengthening the learning in the STEM subjects.
