DHAKA, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- A domestic flight of Bangladeshi US-Bangla Airlines with 64 passengers and seven crew members on board made a safe emergency landing with malfunctioning wheels at a southeastern Bangladesh airport, an official said Wednesday.

The airport official told Xinhua that the plane departed from capital Dhaka at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday (local time) for Cox's Bazar, 292 km southeast of Dhaka, but it flew back to the seaport city Chittagong, 242 km away of capital Dhaka, and made an emergency landing there at Shah Amanat International Airport due to problems in its front wheels.

The official who did not like to be named said the plane made the emergency landing with all passengers and crew onboard safe.

Earlier in March this year, a plane of the Bangladeshi private US-Bangla Airlines crashed during landing in Kathmandu, Nepal, leaving at least 51 persons dead.
