FARAH, Afghanistan, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Five people have been confirmed dead as an army helicopter crashed in the western Farah province on Friday night, spokesman for provincial government Nasir Mehri said Saturday.
"An army helicopter was flying from Herat province to the neighboring Farah province on Friday night but crashed in Khak-e-Safid district, leaving five dead on board," Mehri told Xinhua.
Blaming technical problem for the crash, the official said that two of the victims were the pilot and co-pilot, saying investigation is underway.
This is the second helicopter crash over the past two weeks in Afghanistan.
