Phnom Penh (FN), Sept. 12 – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sent a congratulatory letter to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen for his new term of premiership.

"I wish to convey sincere congratulations to you on the reappointment to the position of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the establishment of the new mandate Royal Government," according to Abe’s letter dated on 7 September 2018.

“Cambodia has been peaceful and stable over the past 25 years after the general election organized by UNTAC. I hope under your leadership, Cambodian people will work together to achieve further development through the promotion of democratic process in Cambodia,” Abe wrote added that “I look forward to exchanging ideas with you on current challenges at the Japan-Mekong Summit to be held in Tokyo this October.”
