Phnom Penh (FN), Sept. 3 - Phnom Penh Municipal Court ordered Kim Sok, Cambodian political analyst, to appear in court on 14 September 2018, allegedly charged with "public defamation and incitement for crimes”, according to the court order Fresh News received on Monday.

However Sok already escaped to Thailand, according to director of the Anti-Terrorism Police Department Y Sok Khy on Monday.

Addressing to workers in Phnom Penh on 29 August, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen warned to sue Cambodian political analyst Kim Sok again if he failed to pay a fine of 800 million riel (approximately $ 200,000) to the Cambodian People's Party (CPP).

Kim Sok had just been released on 17 August 2018 after exercising his 18-month imprisonment term at Prey Sar prison, not too far from the Killing Fields.

The analyst was sued for accusing the ruling party as the man behind the murder of Cambodian political commentator Kem Ley, who was shot dead on July 10, 2016 at a convenience store in Phnom Penh.

Sok had to compensate $200,000 to the ruling CPP and $2,000 to the state in addition to serving 18 months in prison, according to premier's lawyer Ky Tech.
