Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 27 - Former opposition leader Sam Rainsy, despite failure in series of policies, continued to destroy other people, his colleagues, and the benefits of the Khmer, and even his own reputation and dignity.
While seeking support from Cambodians living abroad, who did not know the real situation of Cambodia, Sam Rainsy took the opportunity to disseminate misleading information of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP).
“In the wake of US sanctions against CPP leaders in Cambodia, the CPP headquarters in Long Beach (an office rented on the first floor of this building) have been closed down, with CPP flags and photos of Hun Sen and Heng Samrin having been pulled down,” Sam Rainsy on Facebook on 26 August 2018.
Nao Thouk, Director of Fisheries Administration and a senior member of the CPP, rejected Sam Rainsy’s false information.
Thouk personally knew the owner of the house, located in 2338 E. Anaheim #104, owned by American billionaire Gary Fultheim.
Gary loves Cambodians and CPP. He provided a room to CPP members to hold meeting and another room for Cambodians there to practice Khmer traditional dance.
Gary also hung CPP flag and photos of Prime Minister Hun Sen and Heng Samrin in front of the house for almost 10 years. He even designed his house with Khmer style.
Due to his illness, Gary Fultheim sold the house to someone else, so the new owner removed the flag and the photographs.
He added that Gary traveled to Cambodia at least 50 to 60 times, and that he warmly welcomed CPP’s leaders every time they visit the U.S.
