Phnom Penh (FN), August 27 - Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni will preside over the first plenary session of National Assembly on the fifth of September 2018, according to National Assembly's announcement dated on 27 August 2018.

Following the opening of the first session, senior member of the assembly Samdech Heng Samrin will chair the meeting to decide the term of each member and adopt the internal regulations of the sixth mandate National Assembly.

On the following day, the of sixth September, the National Assembly will vote to appoint president and vice presidents of the National Assembly, chairmen and vice chairmen of all the commissions, and vote of confidence for the new Royal Government.

National Assembly is an elected body consisting of 125 members known as Members of Parliament (MPs). Members are elected for five-year terms by proportional representation.
