Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 22 - Mark Field, British Minister of State for Asia and Pacific, confirmed that the United Kingdom continued to grant Everything but Arms (EBA) to Cambodia even after brexit.
The claim was made in a courtesy call on Cambodian Foreign Affairs Senior Minister Prak Sokhonn at the ministry in Phnom Penh on Wednesday, according to the spokesman Ket Sophann.
UK is one of the major importers of Cambodian goods, especially clothes and footwear.
Senior Minister Prak Sokhonn thanked the UK for continuing to provide EBA scheme to Cambodia that will lead to the increase of Cambodia-UK trade volume.
The trade volume between Cambodia and UK has increased steadily.
Commerce Ministry's report indicated that trade volume of the two has increased from over $800 million in 2015 to over $900 million in 2016 and to over $1.2 billion in 2017.
Cambodia exports to UK clothes, footwear, rice, and peppers.
