Phnom Penh (FN), August 16 - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Cambodian People's Party (CPP) over the July's election victory, according to the Indian premier's letter addressed to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen dated on 7 August 2018.
"It gives me great pleasure to extend to you my heartfelt congratulations on the landslide victory of Cambodian People's Party under your leadership in the 6th legislature general elections in the Kingdom of Cambodia," Narendra Modi wrote in the letter.
"I am confident that our traditional and friendly relations, which have been reinvigorated in recent times by your visit to India and many other high-level visits between our two countries, will further grow and deepen in the years to come", he added.
In the official results of July's elections, the NEC said the CPP won 4,889,113 votes of the total 6,362,241 valid votes, taking all the 125 seats in the National Assembly.
