Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 10 - South Korean Ambassador to Cambodia Nakyoung Oh strongly believed that the relationship between South Korea and Cambodia will be further strengthened through diplomatic enhancement policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia and Government of South Korea.
The statement was made at the 23rd International Korean Speech at the Multi-Purpose Hall on Friday morning at the Cambodia-Korea Cooperation Center (CKCC), Royal University of Phnom Penh.
Nakyoung Oh said that 21 years of relations between the two nations have strengthened cooperation in all fields, such as politics, economy, and culture, and that the future diplomacy between the two countries will be closer.
He added that on average, about 500,000 Korean and Cambodian exchanged visits annually and that Cambodians have shown keen interests in Korean culture.
More Cambodians began to pick up Korean language. Each year approximately 50,000 Cambodians have participated in the Test of Proficiency in Korean.
Korean is taught at five universities in Cambodia, including the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
