MANILA, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Philippine Navy "successfully tested" on Thursday its first Spike ER surface-to-surface missile from one of its multi-purpose attack craft.
In a statement, the navy said the sea acceptance test of the short-range surface-to-surface Spike ER missile system was conducted in the vicinity of Lamao Point located in Bataan province north of Manila.
"A Spike ER missile was fired and accurately hit the designated target at approximately six kilometers away from the firing platform," the Navy statement said.
"The target was hit dead center even if the sea state condition was moderately rough with wave of at least a meter high but within the normal firing conditions of the missile," it added.
