Phnom Penh (FN), August 7 - Sam Rainsy, opposition party leader, has no rights to demand for ballot recounting, for such demand is violating Cambodian law, Som Sorida, deputy secretary-general of the National Election Committee (NEC), told Fresh News on Tuesday evening.
"Rainsy's demand for ballot re-counting is impossible, said Som Sorida, "Rainsy is not a candidate standing for Cambodian general election 2018, nor does he represent any political party."
"Rainsy's demand is unacceptable, as it violates the law," the deputy secretary-general reiterated.
Ballots recounting is possible unless a political party submitted a complaint to commune commision for election concerning serious irregularities by a day after the preliminary result announced, which was 30 July 2018.
