Phnom Penh (FN), July 22 - Khmer civilization expert Roth Sondab stated Sunday that the leader of Cambodia National Rescue Movement Sam Rainsy has not learnt much on Cambodian constitution.

The analyst’s statement came after Rainsy repeatedly stated that His Majesty King will not go to vote and take advantage of His Majesty as his political propaganda.

Article 9 of Cambodia’s constitution stipulates that “The King shall assume the role as supreme arbiter to ensure the regular execution of public powers”.

“The King exercises his role as the supreme arbiter,” stated Roth Sondab adding that “His Majesty strictly abides the constitution.”

He explained that “His Majesty will not go to vote” does not reflect his willingness, only that the constitution forbids him.

The analyst assumed that Rainsy’s act harms Cambodian monarchy just for his own power and that Rainsy’s vision is to take revenge on behalf of his father.
