Phnom Penh (FN), July 13 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said on 7 July 2018, that Cambodian People's Party (CPP) has set a policy to increase salaries to improve the lives of workers as well as private sector employees and to remunerate payment every two weeks if the CPP wins the election in the sixth mandate.
"The Royal Government of Cambodia's 6th Legislature, led by the Cambodian People's Party, with me as a Prime Minister, will further promote the wages of workers and employees as they will receive their continuous wages regularly for every two weeks to serve the needs of the people,” stated the Prime Minister.
The premier believed that the private sector would be able to implement this policy. Currently, more than 700,000 garment workers in the garment and footwear industry receive a minimum monthly wage of $170 excluding other benefits.
