Phnom Penh (FN), July 11 - National Election Committee (NEC) spokesman Hang Puthea said Wednesday morning that following the criticisms over the use of military possession for political campaign, the NEC has yet received any complaints from any party or individual.
"First, the NEC did not receive any complaint. I want to clarify that everyone has the right to file complaints as stated in Article 10 of the Election Procedure. The NEC will deal with the case if there is any complaint,” stated the spokesman.
The NEC will take action according to Article 158 of the electoral law, a fine from $1,250 and $2,500.
Hang Puthea also called on all political parties to instruct members and supporters of the party to follow the law in order to ensure smooth election process in accordance with the principle of free and just principles.
