(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, the spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, announced that at 11:00 a.m. today, 24 August 2025, Thai armed forces, accompanied by heavy weaponry, such as an excavator, entered the Anseh area and other locations within Cambodian sovereign territory and even laid barbed wire despite strong objection from our forces.

This act constitutes a flagrant violation of the ceasefire and poses a grave threat to peace and security along the border between the two countries as well as to the broader region, the spokesperson underscored.

"Cambodia calls on the international community, particularly partner countries that have worked tirelessly to help achieve this hard-won ceasefire and wish to see it's full and effectively implemented, to demand that Thailand immediately stop aggressive action and strictly respect international law, especially Cambodian sovereignty and territorial integrity."
