(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, confirmed that Cambodia’s brave and well-equipped armed forces are standing firm in defence of national sovereignty.

She spoke at a press conference on Saturday (Jul. 26), marking the third day of Thailand’s aggression against Cambodian sovereignty.

She stressed that despite pressure and reinforcement by the Thai military, Cambodia’s armed forces are unwavering in the face of threats. They continue to strongly defend Cambodia’s sovereignty, refusing to give up even a single millimetre of national land. The Royal Government, armed forces, and people of Cambodia stand united as one.

“The Royal Government, armed forces, and Cambodian people stand united in defending our national sovereignty and dignity, regardless of the cost. As of now, we affirm that the Cambodian armed forces are standing strong, determined, and courageous in defending our sovereignty. We will not yield to Thai threats or military pressure, no matter how much force is deployed in different areas. Cambodian armed forces will continue to bravely protect every inch of our land," Socheata underscored.

Maly Socheata condemned Thailand’s military preparations as a clear indication of plans to intensify attacks and violate Cambodia’s sovereignty. She also rejected Thailand’s accusations, such as claims about landmines, calling them fabricated pretexts for aggression meant to distract from its violations of international law.
