(Phnom Penh): According to a report from the General Directorate of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, in the first half of 2025, Cambodia exported a total of 7,833,101 tons of crops, which includes 4,272,735 tons of non-rice crops, 3,176,561 tons of paddy rice, and 384,804 tons of milled rice to 78 international markets, up by 27 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.

The same report estimates that these exports generated over USD 2.872 billion in revenue. Of this:

- Non-rice crop exports earned more than USD 1.926 billion,

- Paddy rice exports earned over USD 638 million, and

- Milled rice exports brought in more than USD 307 million.

As for other key agricultural exports beyond rice as follows:

- Fresh cassava: over 1.58 million tons, down by 5 per cent;

- Cassava chips: over 1.29 million tons, up by more than 57 per cent;

- Cashew nuts: over 570,000 tons, up 6 per cent;

- Fresh mangoes: over 170,000 tons, down 7 per cent;

- Fresh bananas: nearly 150,000 tons, up over 15 per cent;

- Maize: over 50,000 tons, down 20 per cent;

- Fresh longan: over 190,000 tons, up 31 per cent;

- Other 79 agricultural products: a combined 420,000 tons, down 2 per cent.

The report attributes the decline in exports of some products, such as fresh cassava and maize, to increased domestic demand by local factories, which are purchasing more for animal feed production. Fresh mangoes are also increasingly being bought by processing plants to produce mango pulp for export.

It should be noted that, according to the Ministry's 2024 report, Cambodia exported 11.66 million tons of crops that year, generating USD 4.792 billion in revenue, an increase of USD 143 million compared to 2023. Major exported agricultural products included: paddy rice, milled rice, rubber, cassava, mango, fresh banana, pepper, cashew nuts, maize, coconut oil, cassava chips, fresh longan, and more than 77 other agricultural goods.
