(Phnom Penh): President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Samdech Techo Hun Sen reported that the number of enterprises in Cambodia had risen to 45,386, employing a total of 1.87 million workers with an increase of approximately 50,000.
His remarks were made on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the founding of the CPP, held on Saturday morning (Jun. 28) at the CPP headquarters.
“The number of enterprises has increased from 44,798 to 45,386, employing a total of 1.87 million workers with an increase of approximately 50,000 people,” the CPP president underscored.
Additionally, Samdech Techo shared updates on agriculture, noting that dry season rice cultivation in 2025 covered 907,889 hectares, an increase of 67,701 hectares compared to the previous year. The harvest from the dry season reached 4,254,508 tons, exceeding last year’s output by 418,000 tons, a 10.90 per cent increase.
Regarding tourism, Samdech Techo revealed that Cambodia received 2.95 million international tourists in the first five months of 2025, an increase of 11.7 per cent, while domestic tourists totalled 13.16 million with a significant rise of 50 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
He further highlighted the accelerated development and expansion of key physical infrastructure, especially along border areas, including irrigation systems, roads, bridges, electricity, canals, ports, airports, telecommunications, and information technology.
“These tangible results demonstrate that the Royal Government has been and continues to fulfil its commitments to the people with success,” Samdech Techo Hun Sen added.
