(Kandal): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on the Ministry of Interior to continue reforming the National Police Force, focusing on two main objectives to achieve its core mission.
The premier spoke on Thursday (Jun. 26) at the graduation ceremony at the Police Academy of Cambodia in Kandal Province.
In his speech, Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized that, in order to fulfil this vital mission, the Ministry of Interior must continue the reform of the National Police Force, with attention to the following two key areas:
First: Continue strengthening the capacity of the National Police Academy through infrastructure development and provision of necessary equipment, as well as through capacity-building and professional ethics training for police forces to enhance the operational effectiveness of police units.
Second: Continue prioritizing the provision of modern equipment and adequate resources to support the operational needs and daily duties of National Police officers.
Furthermore, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet highlighted an additional point, noting that the Royal Government, especially the Ministry of Interior, must remain highly attentive to all force-utilizing units that require sufficient equipment and tools to effectively support their respective technical functions.
Samdech Thipadei also expressed high appreciation for the Ministry of Interior and all its institutions, including the National Police Academy, for their additional efforts despite the limitations of the national budget.
