(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that, as of March 2025, the number of factories and enterprises registered with the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training had increased from 44,798 to 45,255, speaking on Sunday (Apr. 27) during his meeting with leaders of Informal Economic Associations.
In addition, the premier stated that among the 45,255 factories and enterprises, the number of workers and employees had risen from approximately 1.81 million to 1.85 million.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei noted that employment growth in Cambodia is not an imaginary figure but a real and tangible increase. “For those who observe from afar, it may not be visible. If you wish to see it, please come and witness it in person,” he continued.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Hun Manet added that Cambodia today does not only produce garments and footwear, but also manufactures electrical appliances and automobiles.
As of 25 April 2025, Cambodia had registered a total of new 225 investment projects with a combined investment capital of approximately USD 3.27 billion, creating around 150,000 jobs.
