Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 7 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged all citizens aged 18 and over to register to vote and check their voter lists, as part of the National Election Committee's (NEC) ongoing voter registration campaign.

The premier spoke on Monday (Apr. 7) at the inauguration of the USD 37 million Morodok Techo flyover in Phnom Penh.

“I would like to remind everyone that, according to the NEC calendar, the official 2024 voter list will be published on the NEC’s official website starting from 20 April 2025. Voter list verification in Communes and Sangkats will begin from 1-26 May 2025,” the premier underscored

Samdech Thipadei continued, “I therefore urge all Cambodian citizens to check the voter lists and register to vote, in order to exercise their rights and fulfil their obligations to the nation, in accordance with our Constitution.”

Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasised that in a democratic society, there are only three ways citizens can express their will to change the government: through a coup, by inciting a colour revolution to overthrow the government, or through democratic elections. The premier stressed that the proper and constitutional way is through elections, which are held every five years and represent the collective voice of the people.

“I urge 100 percent of eligible voters to go to the polls,” Samdech Thipadei added. He reiterated that participating in elections is the legitimate democratic means of choosing national leaders and ensuring the country’s stability and peace.
