Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 28 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that the Royal Government of Cambodia has no plans to raise funds to build the Funan-Techo Canal project.

The premier spoke on Sunday (Apr. 28) during his meeting with more than 5,000 representatives of informal economy at OCIC, Phnom Penh.

"At the moment, there is no immediate need for your financial contribution to the budget. We have long deliberated on financial projects, and we are immensely grateful for your supportive spirit and the spirit of nationalism. Such collective force is substantial, surpassing even a USD 10 billion budget,” said the premier.

Despite the challenge of securing foreign investment for the Funan Techo Canal project, Cambodia is determined to build this crucial project, Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed, adding that the budget for the construction of the project has already been prepared.
