Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 9 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet instructed the Ministry of Planning to collaborate with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and relevant ministries to transform the National School of Planning and Statistics into a public administrative institution.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Apr. 9) during the closing 2023 annual meeting of the Ministry of Planning at the ministry.

On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei underscored, "Regarding the National School of Planning and Statistics, I urge the Ministry of Planning to engage in discussions with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and other relevant ministries to transform it into a public administrative institution. This transformation is crucial to bolstering and expanding its mandate, ensuring progress and efficiency in training civil servants and future leaders."

Samdech Thipadei underlined that to uphold the quality of education and training, the National School of Planning and Statistics must enhance its capacity, encompassing improvements in both faculty and institutional resources. These enhancements are essential foundations for effective education and training initiatives.

Premier Hun Manet continued that the National School of Planning and Statistics serves as a pivotal centre for human resource development in planning, statistics, and demographics, aligning with the government's strategy for enhancing human capital.
