Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 18 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and President of the Pheu Thai Party Paetongtarn Shinawatra expressed satisfaction with the robust relations between Cambodia and Thailand. They further articulated their anticipation for an enhanced bilateral relationship to enrich the lives of the people in both nations.

Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Thai Ruling Party President Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Monday (Mar. 18) at the Peace Palace during the latter’s visit to Cambodia at the invitation of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party.

Paetongtarn Shinawatra expressed her gratitude to Samdech Thipadei for allowing her and her delegation to pay a courtesy call, while extending heartfelt congratulations to Samdech Thipadei on his appointment as Cambodian Prime Minister in August 2023.

On the occasion, Paetongtarn Shinawatra conveyed her congratulations on the successful Senate election in Cambodia held on 25 February 2024. She lauded the exemplary relations and collaborative efforts between the two nations, which have yielded mutual benefits for their respective peoples and bolstered bilateral ties.

She also extended her gratitude to Samdech Techo Hun Sen for extending an invitation for her visit to Cambodia. With fervent optimism, she underlined the imperative for further fortification and diversification of the bilateral relationship and cooperation between the two nations, particularly emphasizing the promotion of women's roles in significant spheres.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei warmly welcomed the visit to Cambodia by Paetongtarn Shinawatra and her delegation. He also congratulated her on her appointment as President of the Pheu Thai Party and also conveyed his regards to Thaksin Shinawatra.

Premier Hun Manet commended the robust relations and collaboration between the two nations, highlighting the fruitful outcomes stemming from his recent official visit to Thailand last February. This visit notably bolstered and broadened bilateral ties across various domains such as the economy, trade, tourism, and employment, among others.

The premier extended his best wishes for the success of Paetongtarn Shinawatra and her delegation during their visit, conveying hopes for their happiness and safety throughout their stay in Cambodia, and a safe journey back home.
