Melbourne (FN), Mar. 3 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet underlined that during the fight against the COVID19 pandemic, Samdech Techo Hun Sen made tireless efforts to protect the lives of citizens and assist the citizens' livelihoods by spending more than USD 1300 million.

The premier spoke on Sunday (Mar. 3) during his meeting with Cambodians in Australia and New Zealand.

"From 2020 to present, with 700,000 families affected by COVID19, the Royal Government has spent more than USD 1300 million monthly cash support to the citizens and through other assistance," the premier underscored.

In addition, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that Samdech Techo Hun Sen helped citizens to stay healthy and not die from COVID19 and starvation. "COVID19 not only eats the lungs, but also the stomach," the premier added.

Premier Hun Manet added that the victory in the 2023 election stemmed from citizens recognizing and appreciating the Royal Government's efforts, led by Samdech Techo, at all levels to address challenges and uphold peace and stability.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei recalled Samdech Techo's pivotal role in safeguarding citizens' lives during three significant stages: the country's liberation on 7 January 1979, the implementation of the win-win policy, which concluded the war on 29 December 1998, and the fight against COVID19.
