Melbourne (FN), Mar. 3 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet strongly supported IDP Education's educational mission in Cambodia for many years, building potential human resources for Cambodia.

The premier spoke during a courtesy call by Tennealle O’Shannessy, Chief Executive Officer of IDP Education, on Sunday (Mar. 3) in Melbourne, Australia.

During the meeting, the CEO of IDP Education thanked Samdech Thipadei for allowing her and her delegation to pay a courtesy call. She thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for supporting IDP Education in Cambodia. She continued that IDP Education will continue to have more good cooperation with relevant institutions of Cambodia.

In addition, Tennealle O’Shannessy also briefed Samdech Thipadei about the business activities of IDP Education, which includes a leading school and internationally recognised Australian Centre for Education (ACE). IDP Education also provides counselling services for students applying to universities abroad, including Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and New Zealand.

According to the CEO, in the past, IDP Education provided counselling and facilitation for the study abroad of between 1,500 and 2,000 students per year. In addition, IDP Education also provides services to organise alumni associations, as well as collaborates with a number of universities to provide technical assistance on curriculum database management.

She also expressed her intention to expand more investment in Cambodia. In the near future, IDP Education plans to open a new branch in Siem Reap, and other provinces of Cambodia, including Battambang, Kampong Cham, Kampot, Sihanoukville, and Poipet.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his pleasure in the working discussion with the CEO and highly appreciated the progress of IDP Education's business operations and its contribution to improving the quality of education and building human resources in Cambodia.

Samdech Thipadei mentioned that the training of human resources, especially in the English language, is very important in the era of globalization. English is a bridge between the business and social contexts.

The premier also highlighted the policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia for the seventh term, focusing on promoting economic growth based on human resources. The Royal Government pays attention to strengthening the training of human resources and professional skills for Cambodian citizens because it is an important factor in socio-economic development.

In addition, Premier Hun Manet thanked the Australian Government for providing scholarships to Cambodian students, especially civil servants, and thanked for facilitating IDP Education in the past. The premier pointed out that besides granting scholarships for civil servants, the scholarships are also extended to the military.

Lastly, Samdech Thipadei encouraged IDP Education to continue to support and cooperate with relevant ministries of the Royal Government of Cambodia, especially the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, in training human resources, particularly in digital technology skills, aiming to contribute to building human resources in the kingdom.
